i had this dream i did a monster bl comic…it was really strange

uhmmm well anyway here’s sasha and misha as monsters! Sasha would be part deer cause he’s a runner but also because he’s kind of skiddish and idk i can see him with that deer in headlights expression—i sort of meshed him with a yeti cause he’s really big? idk ahahhaa! misha is an annoying plant monster—erm i’m sure he would try to irritate people or maybe eat them or something?

my stomach is giving me problems lately ahh i’m really scared about it sometimes…

but when i feel upset or scared about things, I try to think about Miralise (sorry this is really lame) because she is really unlucky and a lot of bad things happen to her but she is always brave and trudges through it so i’m gonna put on my brave face and get through it too<3

Oldies but Goodies

So lately I’ve been going through a lot of old writing drafts and I came across this scary box in my closet….AND UNEARTHED SOME THINGS. When I was in high school/freshmanish in college I wrote this huge 500 page book that was totally awful HAHAHA well okay it wasn’t TERRIBLE but it was super melodramatic and a bit trite and oh gosh…talking about it makes me both happy and embarrassed—anyway, when i started writing a bit more seriously, I had to ditch a lot of characters and ideas. It was a little sad but necessary. Today I was thinking about a lot of those characters (I devoted a couple nights to reading all 500 pages of…laughable fantasy drama) so I decided to draw them as a final goodbye~ It was also interesting to see how these characters sort of inched their way into my current cast…

—>This was Aodhan (ay-oh-den is how i pronounced it—back then I was really into looking up gaelic/welsh/etc names because i wanted to be cool) OH GOSH sdfdlsdf anyway he was this lecherous elf that basically popped up every once and a while to annoy everyone. I think officially he was a dragon rider or something—but he hated dragons? (the city officials thought since he was an elf he could talk to them or something but he couldn’t—however he kept the job because he’d been exiled from elf-land or something and needed the money). He ran around in tattered pants and refused to wear a shirt. He especially enjoyed harassing the main character (who was a boring normal girl named Emma) He was my FAVORITE character ever. I was really bummed to drop him but his personality definitely exists in Valentine (minus the lechery I guess…)

—>This was Romulus Ridere this nifty deerman. He was really insecure about his horns and sawed them off a lot so he could get through doorways—sometimes on special occasions he also laced vines and flowers in them HAHAHA he was this gentle alchemy shop keeper guy and he had a huge not-so-secret crush on this other girl named Sheena but refused to date her cause she was human and they couldn’t really…be together…because of that I guess? He was really cool though he had a very chill personality that I liked (he’s sort of manifested himself in Kai<3)

—>This is Rosheen but she went by Sheena. She had a lot of tattoos that would bleed during the full and new moon because of some curse her evil step mother put on her. She liked bargain hunting and was a little bit stupid (oops but its true). Her specialty was plants, she enchanted all the plants/trees in the city to come alive and dance and do helpful things but they developed childish personalities so she had to go up to the city and play with/soothe all of them every day or they’d take their aggression out on unlucky citizens. She liked Romulus too as I recall. She was the main character’s roommate. A lot of her personality and a lot of her LOOKS went into Miralise.

—>These two are Emma and Jasper, the main characters. Ugh they were really annoying. Emma was really shy and useless but sometimes she could be a bit badass once she learned some spells and such. She was raised on our world and found out her mysteriously missing dad was a minister or something in a parallel magical world so on her 16th birthday she got to decide whether or not she wanted to stay on earth or go to the magic world (guess which one she chose heh)

Jasper was this wizard guy who was the next in line to become like…the regulator of all wizards? Idk like magic emperor? chief of magic police? something like that. It wasn’t a choice rather something he inherited. He came from this famous line of rich powerful wizards. He was really moody and Emma made him angsty (because somehow his job prevented them being together…also her dad was like..his advisor…awkward…) but he could occasionally be pleasant. He was really smart but cared a lot more about politics and public opinion to be a good boyfriend (at first anyway) he was constantly like “EMMA LETS BE TOGETHER” and then “NO WE CANT BE TOGETHER—” but he really did care about her it was kinda sad (but creepy when he tried to get her to be with his brother weh)

okay blah anyway these guys were like 75% of the reason why the book was just…melodramatic and hilariously terrible…lemme just say all the romance scenes made me laugh outloud. Emma was boring and pretty much got the boot when I ditched this draft but i guess a couple of her better attributes kind of show up in Miralise (just a little..). Jasper left echoes of his winning features in Kai and Valentine.

—>And last here’s Cornelius, who wins the prize for being the most pathetic. He genuinely liked Emma and therefore became strung around for almost the entire book it was pretty terrible for him. Although come on he was kind of stupid not to get the hint that she liked Jasper. Anyway, he was Jasper’s younger brother and a shape shifter and champion fashion pioneer. He was really handsome and had a fan club and basically he was like a pop idol of the magical world. He and Emma became “magical pairs” which is like…they were partnered up and went on magical assignments together, etc. At one point they dated (ugh the worst) and then they almost got ENGAGED (horrorssss) but finally he had enough of her waffling and left that mess. Then he liked sheena…that didn’t pan out either. So then he was forever alone…with his fanclub HAHAHA He really liked wearing fancy clothes and being the center of attention. A lot of him seeped its way into Valentine. A LOT.

YUP its cool to see how much i’ve progressed since high school all these years later! oh gosh i’m glad my ideas and characters are more well rounded and developed now—yet it was fun going back to that story (the fantasy soap opera HAHAHA) and those old characters were…like…old…friends…. /tear/

these guys are kinda silly (they look really homo for each other right here but i assure you this isn’t the case HAHAHAH) They are Sasha’s pals from the track team and I guess in part his confidants as well..

Vlad is part gypsy and he’s pretty proud of it uhmmm that’s why he has that horrible ponytail. He probably puts on too much cologne. His specialty on the track team is hurdles! He and Con would probably be pretty good friends (or maybe terrifying enemies idk) He has a band but they aren’t very good, he plays the bass guitar.

Luka is kind of a cutie HAHAHAHA he’s short LOL But he goes on a lot of dates and probably has had the most luck with the ladies (he’s that sensitive type) He likes photography a lot and his track specialty is the long jump.
